In prosperity, our friends know us;
In adversity, we know our friends.
It was exactly one year ago that we were forced to shutdown. As you can see from Julie’s whiteboard note, penned this day last year, we optimistically believed we’d be open again in just a couple short weeks. Just had to “flatten the curve”.
The closure lasted almost four months.
We’re seldom grateful for adversity when we’re in the thick of it. But, having endured a bit of it in my first half century, I doubt there are any blessings, besides my faith, health, and family, that I appreciate more than the crucibles and tough times that I’ve weathered.
And last year’s pandemic crucible reminded Jules and me of how many amazing friends bless and enrich our lives. The generous support and encouragement of our members, supporters, friends, and family was, and continues to be humbling and moving.
And so to all of you – members, fans, and friends, MidStrongers all, Julie and I want to express our deepest gratitude. It’s a simple fact… we would not have made it without you. MidStrong would be just another promising idea that didn’t survive reality.
Thank you! And now… onward!!
