This is for life. For more quantity and quality.

Our freedom to live long lives as happy and productive people is largely tied to our ability to move independently for extended periods of time, mostly on our feet.

Too many take this ability for granted. Until we lose it.

It’s shocking how little Americans move.

My unscientific observation is that most, from youngsters to seniors, are barely on their feet for a cumulative of 30 minutes a day. This doesn’t get better as we age.

Look around. Go to the airport. Imagine one where you had to actually pull open a door, carry a suitcase, walk the length of a terminal, or climb a flight of stairs. Speaking of stairs, when was the last time you climbed one anywhere outside of your home? In many buildings, such as hotels, you have to look hard to find them.

Now think about the places we frequent in a day – school, work, the doctor’s office, our homes. We are briefly on our feet as we walk a short distance from one spot to another and then sit down again. In many instances the longest protracted time we spend on our feet is shopping at the grocery store.

None of this serves to protect our freedom.

Even those who exercise regularly, how much are we moving when we’re not at the gym? Sure, it’s awesome to exercise 2-3 times per week but if we spend the other 165 hours sitting on our butts we are missing the point.

We need to get off those butts and on our feet. The quality and quantity of our lives depend on it.

Which leads me to this exciting announcement… we’re thrilled about the return of our June 6X30 Challenge!

Through June, we are challenging MidStrongers to exercise or move for a minimum of 30 minutes for at least six days each week.

Because… this is for life.

We are also thrilled to introduce game-changing new technology, the InBody body composition analyzer. With this uber-cool tech, we’ll capture a very accurate measurement of how consistent weekly movement and exercise will change our bodies’ composition of fat, lean muscle, and water weight.

More to come on the InBody and the 6X30. For now, take a moment and honestly appraise how frequently and consistently you are on your feet.

I’ll check back in early next week with more details.

We help make life awesome by making training and nutrition simple, safe, and sustainable.

You can do this. Don’t settle. Join us.

Stronger than our excuses.
