5 Dynamic Core Exercises to Keep Things Spicy

If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know how devoted I am to building rock-solid core strength.

But even I’ll admit - core training can get boring.

Here are five dynamic core strength exercises that will help keep things spicy (by dynamic, I mean the exercise involves movement of our limbs around a rigid and stabilized core).

#1 Compass Plank

Pro-tip - work to keep trunk as rigid as possible and avoid hip rotation

#2 KB Bird Dog Row

Pro-tip - if your balance is shaky, grab the side of the bench with your hand and hook your toes over the end of the bench

#3 DB Plank Shuffle - in front of hands

Pro-tip - use a hex DB so it doesn’t roll away from you

#4 Stability Ball Plank Tucks

Pro-tip - to protect your back, hollow out your abdomen by tucking your pelvis

#5 Ab Rollouts

Pro-tip - keep active shoulders by rotating your triceps inward toward your armpits

We incorporate deliberate core training into every workout. Most days, we do it right after our warmup to prioritize it. Core strength is the foundation of all our functional strength and fitness. So, put first things first by building the foundation before all the rest.

Need some help building your core strength? Cool. We can help.
