We Want the Same for You!

It’s been a while since I last checked in via email. A LOT has gone on in the several weeks that I’ve been quiet. Amongst other things, I got “canceled” by our former email marketing service, Mailchimp. Yeah, it sucks, but that’s a story for another day. I mention it here because it’s why we’re reaching out today via a new platform.
Anyway, my reason for touching base today is to fill you in on a conclusion that I’ve come to that has spent years fermenting, percolating, and germinating in my noggin. It finally congealed and crystallized after a recent hike in the Whites with my girls. I suppose you could call it an epiphany.
The moment of clarity came just after I cracked my first post-hike celebratory brew sitting on the tailgate of my truck…
This was why I do what I do. This is why I created MidStrong
I want to be able to do all the things I love, with the people I love, for as long as I live. And I want that for you, too.
I want to maximize our healthspan.
Healthspan is the amount of time we get in our lives in which we enjoy robust, fully functional cognitive and physical health. It’s different from lifespan – the number of years we live.
So there we were, sweaty, sticky from bug spray, grimy, muddy. It was hot. We were thirsty and spent. My knees ached. The hike was was a hard one, super steep, on an overgrown trail, up and down a lovely ravine with one cascade tumbling into the next. I loved every second of it.
The beer was ice cold and tasty. We were happy. My cup runneth over with gratitude and contentment and peace. I wanted the moment to last. And I want to be able to feel that way forever, right up until my last day.
That’s also what I wish most for you. I want you to be able to enjoy all the things that make you feel grateful, contented, and at peace, for as long as you have on this earth.
That’s optimal healthspan.
And that’s ultimately MidStrong’s core purpose – to coach you to optimize and maximize your healthspan.
