What’s the difference between prebiotic and probiotic??

Why does it matter?

Both impact your gut microbiome. And through that, your brain, mood, digestion, chronic inflammation, ability to process specific vitamins, and heart health can improve.

What’s my “gut microbiome?”

Your gut is your small and large intestines. It is home to a community of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, which we call the microbiome.

Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that feed microorganisms and promote their growth and activity.

How can you increase your prebiotics?

Eat more fiber! Think fruits and veggies. Prebiotics are going to help your good bacteria grow.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that can be found in foods or supplements.

How can you increase your probiotics?

Eat more fermented foods! Look for foods that contain live cultures:

  • Yogurt

  • Sourdough Bread

  • Kombucha

  • Sauerkraut

  • Kefir

  • Pickles

  • Tempeh

We always recommend trying to get your prebiotics & probiotics from whole foods before you take a supplement.
